Television is a telecommunication medium for transmiting and receiving moving images that can be monochromatic ( shades of grey ) or multicolored. Images are usually accompained by sound.
Commercially available since the lates 1920s, the television set has become commonplace in homes, businesses and institutions, particulary as a source of entertaiment and news.
Since the 1970s, the availability of video cassettes, laserdiscs, Dvds and now Blu-ray discs, have resulted in the television set frequently being used for recorded as well as broadcast material. In recent years, Internet television has seen the rise of television available via the Internet.

Carnival is a festive season which occurs immediately before Lent; the main events are usually during February. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.
